Holiday Cactus Care

Plant care for Holiday Cactus is very easy. Just remember:

1. Bright Indirect light
2. Temps 60-70 degrees F
3. For flowering, cooler temps and night temperatures of 45 degrees F
4. Water when dry but don't let soil profile completely dry out.  If this does occur (drying out). completely submerse soil into water to rehydrate and resume regular watering when top drys to touch.
5. Humidity is important. 50-60% is optimum
6. Pruning is acceptable, but they do like their roots to be snug. (potbound) Easter cactus like new soil every 2-3 years, but not a bigger planter.
7. Thanksgiving and Christmas Cacti are in the Schlumbergera family.   Easter are in the Rhipsalidopsis family.
